FRONTIER PIONEERS CARE!
GIVING BACK TO FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE MILITARY
The Rochester, NY Frontier Pioneers started their annual military drive on June 24, 2010. Donations of food and supplies came from Frontier employees throughout the Rochester area.
To increase donations, the Operator Services Department, specifically Senior Operator Gwen Thomas proposed a Military Donation Team Contest. The department was divided into four teams: Collins' Cool Collectors (Kathy Collins team leader), Baxter's Busy Broadcasters (Ada Baxter team leader), Masters' Money Makers (Mark Masters team leader), and Gomez' Go-Getters (Patricia Gomez team leader). The list of items requested for this project was also divided into the four teams to ensure at least one of everything was collected. The Military Drive Donation Team competition turned out to be a huge success.
In addition many donations were received from various work locations throughout the Rochester area. The Pioneers are proud to report that when the military drive ended on July 31, 2010, 21 boxes of food and supplies were sent to family members of Frontier employees who are stationed overseas and 7 boxes were given to the Rochester Vietnam Veterans. Once again Frontier employees “Answered the Call of those in need”.
