Volunteering together brings numerous benefits to any relationship and the Pioneers work hard to provide volunteer activities conducive to family participation.
Membership
There are 620,000 Pioneers in the United States and Canada. Across the continent, our members are improving the communities in which we all live, work and raise our families. Pioneers represent a broad demographic. Countless numbers of men, women and children participate in or benefit from the programs and projects of Pioneers. Representing various age ranges (18 through retirement), all cultures, and all belief systems, Pioneers are united by the common desire to make a difference.
If you are an employee or retiree of any one of our current or former sponsor companies you are eligible to become a member.
Regular members are current or past employees of any one of our current or former sponsor companies. A person who is retired from a current sponsor company and wishes to become a Pioneer for the first time, may apply for regular membership. Regular members pay annual dues of $15 U.S.
Life membership is immediately granted to regular members who retire from employment and are receiving a service pension. Regular members who otherwise leave the employment of a sponsor company may apply for life membership at the age of 55. Life members do not pay annual dues.
Partner membership is immediately granted to spouses or significant others of current Regular or Life members. Chapters and their subunits may allow a Partner to be elected to an office and have full voting privileges during that term of office. Partners elected to office must pay Regular Member dues during their term. A Pioneer Partner who chooses not to become a regular member shall be entitled to such privileges as the Chapter’s Executive Committee may designate, except that in no case will these privileges include the right to vote or to hold an elective office. A Pioneer Partner, other than those who hold an office, is exempt from the payment of dues.
Associate membership is granted upon request by a Partner member whose spouse or significant other passes away. Associate members do not pay annual dues.
